St. Chris Alumni Events
Spring-Fling 2010 All alumni are invited to attend the St. Christopher Spring-Fling 2010, to be held on Saturday, May 1, 2010 in St. Christopher School and gym. At the Spring-Fling, you can visit with other St. Chris alumni as well as have a chance to meet current parishioners and school families. Also, a number of classes will be having their class reunions at the event. The evening will begin at 5:00pm with an alumni reception in the school, where you can tour the school and visit with old friends. At 6:00pm, all alumni will head down to the gym to their reserved seating area for dinner, dessert, and open bar. After dinner, you can enjoy music and dancing until 11:00pm. The evening will also feature several raffles and both a live and silent auction. All proceeds go directly to support the school. The cost of the event is $24 in advance and $30 at the door for adults and $6 for children 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased via mail (please make all checks payable to "St. Christopher Church") by writing to St. Christopher Parish Center

Past Events Alumni Mass and Reception The Fifth Annual Alumni Mass was held on Sunday, November 15, 2009, at the 9:30 a.m. Mass. The Mass featured Alumni Children's Choir, alumni altar servers, and alumni gift bearers, and was celebrated by our pastor, Fr. Mark Walter. After the Mass, over 70 alumni and friends of the school enjoyed a continental breakfast in Unit D of the school. Alumni enjoyed touring the school, viewing vintage school and parish photos, and socializing with fellow alumni. Here you can view some pictures from the reception. Thanks to all who attended and helped make the day special! Alumni Night at Fiesta 2009! The 5th Annual Alumni Night at Fiesta 2009 was held on Friday, July 17, 2009 at the Fiesta, under the big tent. About 200 alumni enjoyed entertainment under the big tent by the bands Maggie Speaks and Livin' It Up. Congratulations also to the members of the St. Christopher class of 2009, who were inducted into the Alumni Association in a ceremony on the main stage. Here are some pictures from the event. Zachary Hayes (class of '46), who celebrated his 50th Anniversary as a priest on Sunday, June 21, 2009, at the 9:30 AM liturgy at St. Christopher Church in Midlothian. The Mass was concelebrated with the current pastor of St. Christopher, Rev. Mark Walter. After the Mass, there was a reception in Unit D, where family and friends celebrated with Fr. Zachary. St. Christopher School 85th Anniversary Party/Spring-Fling 2009 The School 85th Anniversary Party/Spring Fling 2009 was held on Satruday, May 2, 2009, at St. Christopher School and Gym. This event celebrated 85 years of excellence at St. Christopher. The classes of 1946, 1949, 1954, 1959, 1969, 1979, 1984, and 1989 all held class reunions at the event. Over 80 alumni and their families and friends enjoyed an alumni reception in the school. After the reception, the alumni headed to the gym to their reserved seating, for dinner, drinks, music and dancing. Check out some pictures from the event. Thanks to everyone who attended! All-Alumni Mass and Pancake Breakfast The Fourth Annual All-Alumni Mass was held on Sunday, November 16, 2008, at the 9:30 a.m. Mass. After the Mass, alumni and other friends of the school enjoyed a continental breakfast in the school cafeteria, courtesy of the Holy Name Society. Alumni enjoyed touring of the school, viewing vintage school and parish photos, and socializing with fellow alumni. Thanks for everyone who attended! To see photos of the event, visit our 2008 Alumni Mass/breakast photo page. Alumni Night at Fiesta! The 4th Annual Alumni Night at Fiesta 2008 was held on July 18, 2008 at the Fiesta. Over 150 alums attended. We had a great time, watching the big meatball-eating contest and listening to music by the band Infinity, all while enjoying friends and drinks under the big tent. All-Alumni Homecoming Social/Spring Fling The Alumni Homecoming Social 2008 was held on Saturday, April 19 at the Parish Spring Fling Dinner Dance. The event was held in the school gym. A special alumni reception was held in the school prior to the dinner dance with drinks, hors d'oerves and fellowship with former classmates. Nearly 250 people attended the event, and $20,000 was raised for the school. A big thanks goes out to everyone who attended or supported the event. Your support helps to make St. Christopher School possible! New Year's Eve Party Wrapup The Second Annual New Year's Eve Party, sponsored by the Alumni Association, was held on New Year's Eve in the school gym. The balloon drop was bigger than ever, and once again Fr. Mark serenaded the crowd with a beautiful rendition of "New York, New York" at 11:00 pm. Congrats to our lucky raffle winners who received a variety of prizes, including a Sony digital camera, Blackhawks, Rush, and Wolves tickets, and a variety of restaurant and store gift certificates. We thank all of those who braved the harsh winter weather to enjoy an evening of food, drink, and dancing, and hope to see everyone again next year! Annual All-Alumni Mass The Annual St. Christopher School Alumni Mass was held on Sunday, November 11, 2007 at 9:30am. After the Mass, alumni and other friends of the school enjoyed a continental breakfast in the Franciscan Room, courtesy of the Holy Name Society. Over 100 alumni attended the big event. Alumni enjoyed watching new video wishes from the Fransican sisters including Sr. Patricia and Sr. Bertha Marie, viewing vintage school and parish photos, and socializing with fellow alumni. Congratulations to our lucky raffle winners, and thanks to the Holy Name Society for the breakfast! Alumni Night at Fiesta! The 3rd Annual Alumni Night at Fiesta was held on Friday, July 20, 2007 from 6:00 pm - 11:00 pm. Over 150 alumni came out to enjoy food, drink, beautiful weather and friendship, while partying under the Big Tent. Music was provided by the band "Infinity" and the crowd frequently joined the band singing along to songs from the 80's & 90's. All alumni who stopped by the Alumni Booth were given St. Christopher 85th Anniversary mugs and 15 lucky alumni were also winners in our free raffle. St. Christopher 85th Anniversary Party The St. Christopher Parish 85th Anniversary Party was held at Odyssey Country Club on Friday, April 13th, 2007. Guests enjoyed cocktails, followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m. After dinner, there was a brief program, followed by dancing to the live music of "The Steve Edwards Orchestra”. Over 400 people were in attendance. A big thanks to all the alumni who were able to attend. Other special guests included a number of former priests and sisters who served at our parish. The evening was a wonderful celebration of 85 years of St. Christopher Parish. Thanks to all who helped make the magical night possible! St. Christopher New Year’s Eve Party Wrap-up Thanks to everyone who attended and helped plan the St. Christopher New Year's Eve party. The gym was transformed into an elegant ballroom with Christmas lights and candlelight. Guests enjoyed a delicious meal, desert, a raffle and conversation, followed by dancing. The highlight of the evening was when Fr. Mark serenaded guests with the first song of the night and then again at 11pm for New Year's in New York. As the scoreboard clock counted down to midnight, 650 balloons were dropped from the gym ceiling. All of the participants in the Mass were St. Chris Alumni, including the celebrant (Fr. Mike Novak), altar servers, lectors, Eucharistic minister, gift bearers, and cantors. After the Mass, alumni and other friends of the school enjoyed the Holy Name Society pancake breakfast in the Franciscan Room. Over 120 alumni attended the big event. Alumni enjoyed touring of the school, viewing vintage school and parish photos, puzzling over St. Chris School trivia and socializing with fellow alumni. Congratulations to our lucky raffle winners. Fiesta All-Alumni Night The 2nd Annual St. Chris All-Alumni Fiesta Reunion was held on Friday, July 21, 2006, from 7:00 pm until closing, in the main food and beer tent. Over 100 alumni enjoyed food, drink, and fellowship while listening to music under the big tent. Thanks to all of you who stopped by the Alumni Booth to register for the free raffle, and congratulations to our two lucky winners Maureen and Tim. Check out some photos from the event! 
Our Lady of the Millenium Statue to visit St. Christopher The Our Lady of the Millennium Statue was at St. Christopher from June 18, 2006 through July 8, 2006. This statue of Mary is 33 feet tall, weighs 8,400 pounds and is sculpted out of gleaming stainless steel. The 11am mass on Sunday June 25th was held at the statue, as was a special 4th of July Mass. Those of you who have seen this statue in person can testify to its powerful, moving statement of faith and grace. Thanks to all who helped to make the visit of Our Lady possible. Nationally-renown author and St. Chris Alumni visits Midlothian Library Nationally-renown author and St. Christopher Alumni John Coyne visited Midlothian Public Library on Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at 7:00 pm. He spoke about his new book "The Caddie who knew Ben Hogan", and signed copies of the book. At the event, representatives of the St. Chris School Board and the St. Chris Alumni Association presented Mr. Coyne with an St. Chris alumni golf shirt and a DVD containing a photo montage of vintage St. Christopher parish and school photos. Posted are some photos from the event. All of us in the St. Chris family are so proud of Mr. Coyne's many accomplishments. He has authored over 20 books of both fiction and non-fiction, covering a broad range of subjects. He truly is one of St. Christopher's finest! All-Alumni Homecoming Social The First Annual All-Alumni Homecoming Social was held on Saturday, March 25, 2006, in the school gym. Over 160 people attended, including 100 alumni. Everyone enjoyed the snacks, drinks, vintage school pictures and memorabilia, a DJ, Split-the-Pot, and the company of former classmates. A special surprise visitor to the Social was our former Principal, Sr. Patricia! Sr. Patricia made a special trip in from Iowa just to attend. Check out some photos from the event! A big thanks to all who volunteered their time and talents to make this event a reality. St. Christopher School Rededication with Bishop Gustavo On Sunday, November 27, 2005, our parish school was rededicated by the Most Rev. Bishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller. The Bishop celebrated the 9:00 am Mass. Following the Mass, the bishop proceeded to the school and rededicated every class room. This event was a wonderful celebration of over 75 years of Catholic education at St. Christopher. All-Alumni Mass and Pancake Breakfast Our alumni Mass on November 6, 2005 was a huge success! Over 100 alumni attended, ranging from the class of 1935 to the class of 2003. Afterwards the alums and their families had a great time touring the school, looking at school photos from the 1930's to the present, and renewing old friendships at the Holy Name Society pancake breakfast. Class of 1985 Reunion The class of 1985 had their 20 year reunion on Saturday October 15, 2005 at Jack Duggins Pub in Crestwood, Illinois. A big thanks to Mike Lotti for organizing this great event! Fiesta All-Alumni Party The 1st Annual St. Chris All-Alumni Fiesta Reunion, held on Friday, July 22, 2005, was a smashing success! More than 150 alums attended, including a number from out of state. The alumni had a great time, listening to music under the big tent and enjoying the sights and sounds of the Fiesta. Class pictures from the classes of 1937 to 1981 were displayed in the alumni booth and in the big tent. Check out some photos from the event! |
